Director, Knowledge Associates Solutions, India, Senior Consultant with Knowledge Associates group of companies and the Knowledge Associates Foundation, Cambridge.
A KM professional certified through the KMI Institute (USA), my 17+ years of experience in knowledge management has spanned developing, planning, and implementing methodologies to support strategic, corporate knowledge management, and knowledge asset management. This experience opened up opportunities that allowed me:
To hone my capabilities in starting up and managing a knowledge management agenda using approaches intended for a more integrated, holistic, demand-driven programme ( 5000+ employees national/global, functioning under the public-private-partnership (PPP) model of project delivery across physical and social infrastructure projects and financial services). 20+years with this organisation offered me the advantage of access to institutional knowledge related to people, processes, and technology leading to effective results in:
identifying what knowledge is key to enabling day-to-day informed choices;
understanding where that knowledge resides and ensuring a meaningful method towards capture, storing, sharing, and application;
solutions for improved collaboration and harvesting best practices, novel knowledge & innovation from project sites and experiences;
developing templates and delivery of KM education and training,
refining knowledge bases;
building expertise directories
assessments to measure, manage and protect critical organisational knowledge at the individual, team, and inter-group levels
capacity building through training and education, assessments to determine knowledge gaps, change readiness, and digital transformation for better knowledge working developing people, communities, and resources
UN work experience through a project to evaluate the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of corporate KM within a notable UN department. The project involved working in accordance with internal evaluation policies and the UN Evaluation Group (UNEG) Norms and Standards for Evaluation in the United Nations System. Applying the recently published ISO 30401 Knowledge Management Standard as a benchmark for this evaluation assignment gave me hands-on learning about the Standard and a better understanding of its mapping and application
I work with corporations and international organisations through virtual collaboration and have demonstrated my ability to build work relationships through good interpersonal skills, work ethics, and professionalism.
Being a custodian of knowledge and information further took my experiences in the direction of corporate communications – website management and annual report publishing, library services development, setting up and managing communities of practice, planning and executing service outreach and promotion activities, IT tools for library & information service implementation, online database management, information management & promoting e-resources. Additionally, from a corporate sustainability perspective, managing knowledge and information from projects and experiences led to providing planning and implementing support for the corporate sustainability policy and subsequent initiatives.
